Rare Forging Materials

Each Event Equipment Set has one forging material that is more scarce and difficult to get your hands on than the others. Hense, rare.

Not every piece of gear needs a rare material to forge it, but many do. The pieces with the highest boosts usually do.

There are a few different ways to obtain rare materials.
• Buy Them
• Monster Hunting
• Guild Gifts
• Material Boxes
• Labyrinth
• Hell Events and 24hr Challenge Events

Buy Them
If you purchase a pack specifically for an Event Equipment set, there is a guaranteed amount of the rare material that will just go straight into your inventory. The quantities vary by set and pack cost, so check the mall for details.

Monster Hunting
To get rare materials this way, you don't need to do anything special. But you do need a lot of luck.

While hunting, there is a 20% chance of getting any kind of forging material for monster levels 1 to 4. It is a 25% chance on level 5s. Now that's for any kind of material from that monster's set, so a rare drop is much less.

My drop rate estimates below are the percentage for the rare material out of a material box adjusted as if the 100% of the box was only 20%. I've done some testing and it seems to hold true, but in all honesty this is just a hypothesis.

Guild Gifts
This is by far the least likely way you'll obtain rares, but it's possible.

Equiptment material drops come from monster hunting gifts. These are the drop rates for any material for the set.
• Common: 10.18%
• Uncommon: 12.35%
• Rare: 15.14%
• Epic: No monster material drops
• Legendary: 12.76%

I'd estimate the chance of getting a rare material ranges from ~0.31% to ~1.51%. So, technically possibly. But don't hold your breath.

Material Boxes
This is your best chance at getting a rare material drop. Material boxes are stupidly easy to obtain if you're P2P as nearly all of the mall packs come with them. Not so much as a totally F2P player, but you'll still get them.

Get set specific material boxes from purchasing mall packs, completing Solo, Hell, and 24hr Challenge Events, or from special event prizes such as Guild Fest options or Guild Bash summon/slayer gifts.

In addition to set specific material boxes, there is also a special material box called the Monsterous Box. This box contains only rare materials. Unfortunately, it doesn't contain every rare, but it has enough of them that this is my favorite box to open.

The Labyrinth
Check out this post for more details on how the Labyrinth works.

Which monsters give each rare and the drop rates are listed below.

Hell Events and 24hr Challenge Events
To get these rares, you just need to complete the stage. That's it. No additional hoops to jump through. Obviously it's not easy to complete all three stages of one of these events, but this is the only guaranteed way to get a rare material that's free.

Not all of the rares are offered as rewards and rares are not always even offered as a rewards. So if this is going to be a primary source of rares for you, get in the habit of checking these rewards often.

Darknest Rallies

T's Ultimate Darknest Rally Guide Victory over a Darknest isn't just about how many troops you send at it. It's about which troops and why. Sure, you might be able to beat it by just throwing a ton of troops at it, but you'll end up with more wounded than necessary. Why Do Darknest Rallies? It's basically free loot. Random, but you don't need to do much for it other than hold the rally correctly and heal some troops. Troops sent to a Darknest will never die unless you don't have room in your Infirmary. There are 5 grades of essence just like gear and heroes and... well, pretty much everything. The grade goes up with the Darknest levels. Level 1 nests give you common up through level 5 nests giving you legendary. Theoretically, the higher the essence, the better the loot. I say theoretically because sometimes you cook an epic one for 12 hours and still get something useless to you and other times you do a common one and get something you need...

Heros: Types, Grades, Levels, & Ranks

There are four different types of characteristics that are important determining factors of various aspects of a hero. - Attribute type determines which basic attribute increases ATK. - Grade determines the boost percentage of the Battle Skills. - Level determines the amounts for the Hero Skill bonuses and the ability to equip Trophies. - Rank unlocks Battle and Hero Skills and Trophies affect the hero's statistics. For monster hunting, hero stages, and the Colosseum, heroes with a higher level and rank tend to be more important than heroes with a higher grade. Grade does also add to their statistics, so a higher grade is better than a lower grade, but in general, grade is not a huge factor for anything but their Battle Skill %. The opposite is also true. If you're looking at Battle Skills, a hero with a higher grade will be more effective than a hero at a higher level or rank. Rank does increase command, which will ultimately give you more troops and a hero with ...

The "Best" Heroes

I mean it when I say that the primary thing to keep in mind is that all of the heroes have strengths and weakness. There is no universal "best" hero. It comes down to personal preference and building a good team with all the types and useful battle skills for what you're focused on. But I know that's not what you want. So here goes. This is just my personal opinion. Free Heroes 1. Rose Knight 2. Heroes with troop specific ATK & HP Battle Skills • Demon Slayer - Infantry • Snow Queen - Ranged • Child of Light - Cavalry 3. Trickster 4. Bombin' Goblin 5. Prima Donna Paid Heroes 1. Lore Weaver 2. Berserker 3. Songstress of the Sea 4. The Big Guy 5. Witch Doll Rose Knight Cavalry • STR (Strength) She is the most ideal free hero offered in the game right now. She has high HP, healing capabilities, and at Rank 7, she has an Army ATK boost.
